Prague.  1991.  Jason Starbay, a middle-aged Aussie rock ‘n’ roll singer who is nearly a has-been, has come to the end of a reunion tour through  the Czech Republic.  Natalia Potofsky is a young Czech girl determined to learn the truth about her mother.  They cross paths in a run-down hotel—and on this morning-after-the-night-before, Jason is not ready to hear that he is Natalia’s father…

Fig Jam is a wonderful showcase for two actors. The piece explores the traction the past has on those who seek to leave it behind— and what happens when a past we thought we’d left far behind comes back to bite us on the bum.

A fun but dramatic trip down memory lane where two people discover what it means to be family.
